Researchers

Picture
Florence Ward-
Since graduating from Oxford University having specialised in Medieval English literature, Florence has trained under Gabriel Gawin (core and founding member of Song of The Goat Theatre) and Niamh Dowling (Monika Pagneux) on her MA in Ensemble Theatre. Florence’s own research is based around Song-Action, as she explores practically how the voice and song can translate into the creation of theatre and performance. Florence has recently been training in Bengal at the Theatre House Santiniketan under Abani Biswas who collaborated closely with Grotowski in the Theatre of Sources phase of his work. She also now trains as part of the ACT project with the theatre company Moon Fool, lead by Anna-Helena Mclean.

Picture
Si Garner-
After developing a passion for Ensemble training out of her own research that lead to the creation of the performance ‘March’ Si has worked extensively with international ensemble ‘Bred in the Bone Theatre’. With Bred in the Bone as well as touring to France in performances of King Lear, Hamlet and Macbeth, Si has assisted in the running and growth of the company’s unique training methodologies. Si has also trained in Italy in Biomechanics under Meyerholdian expert Gennadi Bogdanov.

Holly Khan-
Holly has a firm base in European training, having studied under Ariane Mnouchkine and the Theatre du Soleil in their Ecole Nomade, as well as collaborating intensively with Joyce Henderson (Complicite / Lecoq) as musical director of the performance ‘Live at the Hive’. Being highly skilled in Violin, Viola and Flute Holly works to find new ways of merging live music and theatre. Holly is currently training on her MA in Performance Making at Goldsmiths University.

Oscar Zito-
Since training under Rena Mirecka at the Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw) Oscar has specialised and based his own research around Polish theatre Practices. In 2016 Oscar toured with Decoupage Collective in the performance ‘Lost Game’ to Paris, Avignon, Toulon and Edinburgh. In his performance he focused on applying his highly physical Grotowskian approach of training to the performance of psychologically realistic text based theatre. His own research is based on the honesty and organicity of action. Oscar has recently returned from working and performing with the European Centre for Theatre Practices ‘Gardzienice’.
