Sex workers' rights and condition of living provides inspiration for the new work by the company Découpage Collective
Outside deconstructs a singular character into multiple beings who together try to articulate the complexity of sex workers condition and the perception of such condition by themselves. Through visual storytelling, contemporary writing and live music, Outside deals with the image built by society and sex workers themselves that enable myths and wrong believes about prostitution, illustrating the inner and real self.
This project is starting with a R&D, including a week residency at Blue Elephant Theatre in Camberwell, that will end with a showing of our work in progress in early march. In May, we will be presenting the first draft of Outside, in the theatre. All of our process will be documented in the blog section of our website.
